Description

Kismi is defined by details across its surface: fine waves or a distributed texture, depending on the design, on an opaque cupro viscose ground. Colour retains its space while the pattern adds a tactile rhythm discovered up close.

Detail within the fabric surface

Waves or textured markings give a single-colour area a distinctive presence. They extend across panels and appear through light and folds, without needing elaborate added decoration. Each design has its own direction and prominence; horizontal waves create a different visual movement from subtly raised lengthwise oval markings. This design features fine lengthwise oval texture with a subtly raised finish.

Quiet colour, rich texture

A simple jalabiya or single-colour abaya can gain richness from the textile itself. From a distance, the overall shade is clear; closer viewing reveals the details. Cupro’s cool feel complements the fabric, with a soft ground and full opacity supporting designs that highlight texture rather than a multitude of colours.

Considered placement in the cut

It suits abayas, jalabiyas and dresses that give the pattern sufficient space. Use it across body and sleeves or introduce a separate plain cloth to highlight a patterned area. Keeping the detail’s direction in mind when arranging panels helps it complement the silhouette from the front and sides.
